Thank you Mike. We need to get the information out to as many people as
possible. All of us must contact our representatives in Tallahassee and
encourage them to support this important legislation. As you mentioned, the
House version, which was introduced by Representative Dwayne Taylor, is HB
405. The Senate version, which was introduced by Senator Evelyn Lynn, is SB
1192. Keep up the good work.

Doug

Hi,

I am new to FL and to its' legislation. In Pennsylvania I was very active
in advocacy. I was chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee and as such,
attended the ACB Legislative Seminar 4 different times. I was on our board
of directors for 3 years. I would be interested in reading the position
paper if someone would please forward it to me. I'd like very much to get
up to speed regarding FL legislation.

Thank you.

Mary Ann Alexander

Members,

I had been asked by our president Paul Edwards, to approach my Lions club
concerning house bill 405 and Senate bill 1192. As a rule, Lions do not
get involved with political things, however an exception was made in this
case due to it's nature. I urge any Lion to consider bringing up this
issue with their chapter. It is my hope that I will reach our district
governor to make this a state wide issue for the Lions as well as ACB and
others. The letter follows.

RE: SB 1192 & HB 405 - An Act Relating to Persons With Disabilities;
Position Paper of Sponsoring Organizations: Florida Association of Agencies
Serving
the Blind; Florida Council of the Blind and National Federation of the Blind

Dear President Haridopolos and Speaker Cannon:

The Tallahassee Lions Club, now in its 83d year of dedication to serving
those in the Greater Tallahassee community having sight related and other
health
and social related needs, is proud to add its endorsement to the enclosed
position paper of the above-cited organizations advocating the enactment of
Senate
Bill 1192 & House Bill 405 introduced respectively by Senator Evelyn Lynn
and Representative Dwayne Taylor.

The language of this position paper eloquently speaks for itself. Our
Tallahassee Lions Club therefore urges passage of these twin Senate and
House bills
in the 2012 Florida Senate and House legislative sessions.

Yours very truly,

Bruce Bechard, President/Tallahassee Lions Club
