[fcb-l] important changes to the FCB list serve

MessageThe mailman server can be configured so that this doesn't happen however.

I'm not so sure though that this will make a major difference as unfortunately people get use to hitting the reply to all command, and it defeats the purpose. Still a few less helps.

Since this is an FCB list, not everything that nonmembers see would be relevant to them. We do all need to try to stay pretty much on topic for blindness without going overboard the other way. It's a thin line and I don't envy the moderators!!

Also please be aware that if you use the reply all command the person who originally posted the message will receive the message twice.

This is due to the message going to the original poster and the list as well.

  Hi All,

Effective immediately, We are trying a new way of responding to the FCB list serve in hopes of cutting down on chatter that has no relevance to the list.

When replying to a post on the list, if you want to respond just to the person that sent the message use the ctrl-r command. If your response is of interest to the entire list you will now have to press ctrl-shift-r for everyone to see your post.

If you are using Window-Eyes since ctrl-shift-r is the hotkey to read from your current position unless you have changed it, you will need to press insert-b which is the by-pass hotkey before pressing the ctrl-shift-r command.

This change isn't written in stone but we want to give it a try.

You are welcome to post your thoughts on this change to the list.

  Thanks Robert
