Subject: [GDUI-LEADERS] GDUI election results!

I am pleased to report to you the results of GDUI's 2010 election. 
A quorum of 20% is required by the constitution for telephonic voting, and
159 GDUI members exercised their right to vote, which represented 22% of the
membership and thus the necessary quorum.
For the office of President, Becky Barnes was re-elected to a second and
final term with 131 votes, which was 82.39%. 
Hope Paulos who also ran for president received 28 votes which is 17.61%.

Cecelia Warren was elected to a first term as first vice president with 135
votes or 84.91% of those voting. Nobody else ran for this office.

Kevin Frankeberger was elected to a first term as second vice president,
with 140 votes, which is 88.05% of those who voted, and again, nobody else
ran for this position.

The office of secretary was uncontested, and Rebecca Kragnes was re-elected
with 153 votes or 96.23%. 

GDUI's treasurer, Jane Sheehan, also ran unopposed and was re-elected with
157 votes, 98.74%.

There were three individuals who ran for 2 openings on GDUI's board of
directors, and the two who were elected will be listed first. 

Donald Moore was elected as a GDUI director with 115 votes, representing
72.33% of those who voted..

Ann Chiapetta was also elected to GDUI's board of directors with 107 votes
or 67.30%.

Amy Shaw will not go on to serve a second term as a GDUI director, having
received 97 votes, only 61.01%. .

GDUI's constitutional amendment requiring a vote of two thirds to carry did
so with 127 votes, which was 79.87% in favor of this change, which will
allow more individuals from the same state to run for office.

Congratulations to those of you who proved your commitment to GDUI and made
the effort to run for office. GDUI needs you now more than ever, and it is
hoped that even more of you will take the opportunity to become involved
with GDUI's important work by serving for office in the future. Finally,
GDUI offers its most hearty and heartfelt congratulations to all of this
year's newly elected officers and directors.
