Hi everyone,
Two bills of paramount interest to BSCB will be heard next week
Date: Tuesday, June 28, 2011 - 1:00 pm
Location: State House, Hearing Room B-2
The Joint Committee on Financial services is holding this hearing. 
The first of the bills is S1855, which would require health insurance providers to pay the cost of talking prescription bottles. This bill has once again been filed by Senator Baddour. Note that BSCB has been working on this issue since Brian Coppola brought it to our attention and got the first bill filed somewhere around 2001.
The second bill is S472 which would require insurance providers to cover the cost of larger prescription bottles that can accommodate 24 point print. This one would be particularly beneficial to seniors who are losing their vision as well as other users of large print. It has been sponsored by senator Tolman. Note that both Senators tolman and Baddour have worked tirelessly on our behalf on access issues of this type.
