Louisville, Ky. (WDRB-TV) -- Louisville 9th District Metro Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh is recovering from an emergency appendectomy performed on Monday
morning.

The surgery was performed at Norton Suburban Hospital -- a release from the Metro Council says she returned home soon afterwards to recover.

Councilwoman Ward-Pugh will work from home the rest of the week, but is expected to resume her regular schedule next week.  Her illness does not affect
the 11th Annual District 9 Back to School Block Party on Friday, September 9th.
