Dear All,
The email below is from a blind student at Texas A&M. He has encountered
a number of professors who cannot imagine how blind people do
different kinds of
jobs. He has a set of interview questions in connections with a
research project and
if you would be willing to talk to him, his email is listed below.
The interview takes about 20 to 30 minutes. He is mainly interested in
technologies and strategies blind people use at work or in an interview /
application process. He is also happy to supply more information such as
the name of the professor who is
supervising the project.
He's a nice kid who has encountered an unbelievable amount of
ignorance and discrimination. I hope that some of you, especially
any who work in an academic environment, will be willing to speak with him.

Subject: blind folks needed for a thesis: general inquiry
Hello,
Thank you very much for a few minutes of your time, allowing me
to
interview you about alternative strategies that help you accomplish your
work. I appreciate your insights and advise about networking, and
persistence.
If you know of any other blind people that would be agreeable to
an interview, please forward my contact information onto them. The research
I'm doing is a case study, testimonies from blind people currently employed
will provide the evidence for the study, however, some statistical
information may be helpful. If you're aware of websites that contain
information about blind employment, or if you know of articles about this
topic, please let me know. Thank you again. John Russo
