This came from the ACBS student group but also is true of the CCBS student
group which has elections at CCB conventions:
Hello everyone!
Are you ever looking for ways to spice up your resumes or
applications? Maybe you're applying for a job, scholarship, or
graduate school and are finding your list of leadership experiences
thinner than you'd like. Well, we've got the solution here in ACBS!
This July, we will be elected three new officers to our board of
directors. This year's positions up for election are the roles of
president, first vice president, and treasurer. These are great
opportunities to get involved with ACBS while giving yourself the
additional qualities that attract you to future employers and deans.
Please read the brief job descriptions below for these three roles.
Know that while we do elect officers at national convention in
Louisville, you do not need to present to run for a board position. In
fact, we have had members of ACBS run who could not attend who have
successfully contributed to our board. Email me at
president.acbstudents at gmail.com
if you have any further questions or
would like more information.

ACB Students President
President Description: The president's role within ACBS is to oversee
all the inner workings of the affiliate. He or she is responsible for
leading board meetings and keeping communication with the other board
members. In addition, the president has a few small tasks spelled out
in the ACB Students Constitution. While this role may appear to be
intimidating to some future leaders, with proper amounts of delegation
to other members, it is a very manageable job while attending school.
First Vice President Description: The first vice president of ACB
Students facilitates the committees. He or she is responsible for
coordinating communication between committee chairs, establishing
committees, and assisting in selecting committee chairs. The first
vice president chairs a committee of their own, currently the
membership committee, and works closely with the president to ensure
all inner workings of the affiliate are done effectively and timely.
Treasurer Description: The treasurer handles the finances of the
affiliate. He or she works closely with the president and the national
office to ensure security and efficiency of funds. The treasurer
provides monthly reports to the board with changes and stabilities in
treasury and they often chair the fundraising committee. In addition,
the treasurer generally participates heavily in the fundraising
endeavors of ACB Students.
