Thanks Kathy. This is true. However, anyone with Verizon needs to be very sure that they have your Form on file. And, I recently (like the last couple of days) submitted mine and it no longer has to be filled out by a doctor. That was real cool to know. They told me it did but there was nowhere for a doc to sign off. And they accepted it.
I guess, finally, they know that I know I'm blind! Amazing.

Subject: [mountainstate] Verizon 411 Connection Fee
Hello!
This message is for those who have Verizon home phone service, as I do, and get the free 411 due to blindness/visual impairment.
Lately, when I use the 411 service, they tell me Verizon can connect me to the number automatically for a 50 cent fee. I called Verizon to make sure the fee did not apply to disabled recipients of the free 411 service. They said it did not, and the connection was free also. This is a great convenience for us.
The number for Verizon Center for Customers with Disabilities is 800-974-6006. They are open Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5:00.
Kathy
