[mountainstate] tape machines v.s digital players

era of the Well as everyone on this list knows, the tapes from the NLS have   finally come to an era.  Let's all pause and bow our heads.  NOW......wouldn't you know it!  the small plastic piece that holds the batteries in my handi-cassette player has quit working.    Therefore, I either have to keep the thing plugged in or use that rechargeable battery pack (that only last six lousy hours)  The regular batteries last about twenty.  

Does anyone know what kind of battery the new digital player has?   It lasts a super duper long time that's for sure!  

I have to call ILS to see if I can get a part for the handi-cassette II.  Everyone cross your fingers please!
