[mountainstate] My experience with ARgosy

Hi. Well, I think my doctorate was short-lived. Have any of you had experience with Argosy University and if so, let me know.

I applied and was readily accepted. However, it has been one thing after another since then. This has been a long month and most frustrating.

First, I had requested assistance filling out my financial aid. They refused, saying it was "against federal law." So, I completed it myself with the assistance of my accountant. My difficulty there was getting information from the printed tax forms to fill in on the federal financial aid.

That completed, I went to step two: getting Disability Services. The university sent me a seven page form, asking about my functional level, my diagnosis, medical documentation thereof, what procedures had been used, how it impacted me now and whatever else.
I presented this to my medical doctor who took one look at it and refused to fill it all out. He was willing to write a short statement verifying that I am totally and permanently blind.
I completed the form myself and sent that, my specific accommodation requests and that letter. The day before class was to start, they finally accepted it after quie a few go-arounds between us.

Then, they sent my textbook which is okay, although the first chapter and intro are missing, and it is the 3rd edition.

But now, here we are with the main issue: Icannot post my assignments or email to their webmail program. The subject box works great, and it ends right there. They claim there is "a big white space" to paste in an email or write too. Maybe so but there is nothing to identify it on my screenreader. They claim their site "has been tested with JAWS and works." Okay, maybe.
The rest of it "works" too, but not that posting part. So, I referred them to Gwmicro, offered to complete my assignments by sending them directly to the instructor until this is resolved.
They contacted Gwmicro and I downloaded a script which makes things work a whole lot better, but still does not identify that needed "white space".
So, I volunteered to see if other more competent users could help. Well, too late, I guess because now they have taken the assignments and modules off my space on the site.
So, here I am, all ready to get my doctorate and I guess it isn't going to happen. Bottom line seems to be, I get JAWS or nada.
Well, I"m not spending $1300 or whatever it costs for JAWS, learning it, just to accommodate them when I know very well that Window-eyes could work with this thing too.
So, I guess here I am until they decide what they are going to do, then so will I.
I'm feeling really angry and frustrated with them now, let me tell you.
These schools want our, and federal, money; they want the blind person publicity, but wow! what we have to do to get there.
