I agree, Debbie. I just don't understand this kind of thing, and am not
impressed by it at all, regardless of whether the person is blind or
sighted. I think it is great that a blind person can hike the applachian
trail, but to do so alone? That is just not using good common sense, I'm
sorry! And it wouldn't be if he did it as a full sighted person. They teach
that in boy and girl scouts 101. <LOL>
What kind of a messages are adults, blind, sending to children when we do
this thing? We punish the kids for going off on their own, then brag about
the blind guy who does it?

I don't think it is smart or safe for anybody sighted or blind to set out on
that kind of mission. It's one thing to prove a point but this goes too far
in my opinion. I'd love to hike the Appalachian trail but not alone thank
you.
