Subject: Accessible Voting for Blind & Visually Impaired Individuals
Hi there,
My name is Jill Piner, and I'm a PhD student at Rice University in Houston, TX. I work in a lab that studies how people use and interact with voting machines. My current work involves understanding and promoting change in accessible voting technology, specifically for blind and visually impaired individuals. I'm trying to recruit people that are 18 years of age or older, and legally blind, to take 15-20 minutes completing a survey we have about their previous voting experience and what changes they feel would be most beneficial. This not only helps me with my own education and completion of my thesis, but I hope to get the work published and into the hands of voting machine manufactures & government officials -- people who can make real changes! However, I've had a difficult time reaching out and contacting members of this community. I was hoping that you would be able to assist me with this research in whatever way you feel appropriate, by forwarding this information to friends, associates, or your blog readers. The survey link can be found here, and all information is kept strictly confidential and will only be used for academic purposes - no personally identifying information (like name, address, etc) will be collected:

Thank you so much for your time. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments!
