Donna,
Right now I just got some braille books from very nice doaners that I'm sorting with my own collection to take to the library. We are starting with very little space. I'm hoping we can get more space. When we do I will be looking for more donations, and perhaps grants and funding to purchase more. I have comfidence that it will have a nice jumpstart by the summer, and when I leave WV for NY the director will continue to work on the project. He seems very interested and willing for this program.

  Hello Keri,
What an interesting and exciting career goal you have. That's great and good luck.
Also, I am so glad to hear of your trying to create a braille program at your public library. Can you share with us what you've already done, and keep us posted of your progress? If there is anything MSCB can do to help you, please let us know.

Hi Keri, Welcome to the list.
And what an exciting major! I have my Masters in Counseling, work as a mental health / substance abuse therapist and am working on my Doctorate. My discertation will likely be in the criminal arena.
Forensics is really quite a big and new development, probably many jobs in the field with some way cool exciting stuff. I do hope the software is accessible, or that they will work with you; however, American Psychological Association develops much of it and is quite good with accommodations and the recignotion of the need for them.
It sounds like you are busy otherwise.

I'm a totally blind person from Mercer county. I'm 19. Soon I'll be moving to New York to live and go to school. I'll attend John Jay college of criminal justice as a forensic psychology major. I'm currently working on establishing a braille program at the Princeton public library before I leave. :)
