Greetings NABS members and friends. As you probably already know, the
49th Annual ACB Conference and Convention is barely two weeks away.
The NABS Board and Convention Committee have been working hard to
prepare a slate of fun and informative events for those joining us in
Phoenix. Here's a quick preview of what you can expect from NABS this
year.
The fun starts on Saturday night at the NABS Welcome Party. Meet up
with old friends, make new ones, and get to know the NABS board and
some of this year's scholarship winners. Pizza and drinks will be
available too. On Sunday morning we have the first of two business
meetings followed by a luncheon celebrating this year's scholarship
winners. Our second business meeting is on Tuesday afternoon, at which
elections will be held for several positions on the NABS Board. Stay
tuned to this list for more info on these. Later that evening, join
NABS and BRL for a rousing game of Left Right Center, a dice game
that's easy to learn and extremely fun to play. On Wednesday, NABS and
the ACB Employment Task Force will hold a seminar for job-seekers
moderated by our own Rebecca Bridges. Later that afternoon, join guest
speaker Elizabeth Toumajian as she discusses how even busy students
can live a healthy lifestyle. Finally on Thursday, NABS is
co-sponsoring ACB's 2nd Annual Job Fair. Bring your resumes and meet a
number of prospective employers from various fields. And don't forget
to end off your week at NABS Comedy Night. Enjoy a live professional
comedian, cash bar, and raffles for fabulous prizes. See the 2010
Convention Program for times, room locations and ticket prices for all
events.
Once again NABS will be delivering the convention newspaper to
attendees throughout the hotel from Friday to Wednesday evenings. This
is a great way to meet other students and get to know the hotel a
little better. Information on volunteering to help us out is
forthcoming.
We look forward to meeting many of you in Phoenix. If you have any
convention-related questions, drop me an email at kerrireg at gmail.com
Thanks for reading and see many of you soon. Kerri Regan, Convention
Chair
