Dornetta,
The Kurzweil that we were talking about before, the thread I
believe that was started by Olivia talking about pdfs, is the
software program you install on a pc and use in conjunction with
a scanner to scan printed materials and then convert it to
readable text. The program also converts pdf and some other
image files in to text, and it does serve as basically a
functional word processing program and has spellcheck etc.
The camera thing that I think you're referring to is the older
knfb reader wich is ... well for similar purposes. But obviously
a pc and scanner is more powerful and will turn out better
results sometimes, can be faster if you need to scan a lot of
pages, and isn't inconvenient if your near a computer all of the
time.
HTH,
Laura

Subject: [nabs] Benefits of Kerzweil?
BlankHello all!
I have heard a few of yall mention the Kerzweil. I currently have
the older model-camera attachment but am wondering about this
"other" product you all are speaking of. What is it and what are
the venefits?
Any information will be helpful :-)
Thanks,
Dornetta
