I'm also a working professional and would be available to give my twenty
dollar's worth for anyone interested. Regardless of who's asked to share
their experiences, it's a great idea.

Best,

Joe

Olivia,

Your idea is wonderful. It would be awesome if we could get
maybe a pannel of like 3 people together who are blind and
currently employed to talk about their experiences and one of us
board members could moderate perhaps and ask prepared questions
and then have a Q&A time as well.

Sorry for the poor sentence structure, but this idea is really
exciting! I'm sure we'll discuss it at the next board meeting.
Thank you, and please don't ever feel as if you're speaking out
of turn because you don't necessarily belong to one organization
or another. We respect everyone's views and affiliations, and we
are all grateful for the contributions of all other members.

Laura

Hi Everyone,
I may be talking out of turn, as I'm not even an ACB member, so
please forgive me in advance if this is the case!
I've been thinking over the past few weeks how much I enjoy my
work, and what a journey it's been getting to where I want to be
professionally, or at least with the company I want to work for!
I've also been thinking about how I wished that I'd had the
opportunity to talk with blind people who are employed when I was
a student, because it would have been very helpful to get a
realistic, and honest, view of what blind people face in the
"real world" after school is over.
I thought it would be a great idea for some of us who are
finished with school and out in the working world to have a
conference call with students to openly discuss employment
issues, what we do, as well as answer questions. I would be more
than willing to do this, if there is interest from you guys.
apologize
Let me know what you think, and if this is out of turn, again I
apologize!
Olivia
