Chris,

Braille is a great medium for getting spelling of words and such, but I
prefer to get an audio version along with an electronic version in Word or
PDF format. Although college's may Braille a book, they are very bulky. I
needed to borrow a portion of a textbook for MLA formatting, and the book
itself, "The MLA Manual for Writing", took up an entire closet in the access
coucnelor's office. She was happy to give me the volume, because it got out
of her way. LOL! If a textbook was available in Web Braile, however, that
would be great for those who have a notetaker and a Braille display. Another
thing to consider is the constant change of books. At the school I have
recently attended, the Department chair is responsible for choosing the
textbook(s) that will be used for alar class and that text will be used by
all instructors teaching that course for a period of three years, but some
schools allow the teacher to have the freedom to choose the book, which may
or may not be early enough to get a Braille volume due to the time it takes
to emboss it. These are just my thoughts.
