[nabs] Accessible Maps?

Dornetta,

I think I'd have to agree with Laura on this one. I took a Middle Eastern
History course a few years ago at my community college. There were map
assignments for the class, and for a while I tried to do the assignments as
anyone else in class would. Even though I have some useable vision, the
task proved to be so difficult that I didn't feel the assignments were a
productive use of my time. I worked with the professor to find alternative
assignments to do. Basically, what he had me do was present a list of some
of the countries that existed in the region during the time period we were
studying and present some bullet points for each country. Like Laura said,
I gave information on which countries bordered other countries and things
like that. I think you would find that even with tactile maps, the
assignments would monopolize a great deal of time that is needed for other
things.
