Netta,
have you tried something like:
How ... broke the mold of her time
or how ... went against the sterotypes of her time
Just 2 ideas off the top of my head, I haven't had to do research for a
couple of years, so not sure if that will work or not. Good luck with your
paper!
Yvonne

Subject: [ACBS] need help with a google search for english research paper
Hello all!
I need some help for my english research paper and doing a google search. I
am not that "great" with doing a broader google search, I can do the simple
searches just fine (like searching for the lyrics for a song, etc...). My
english research topic is:
2. Women and African Americans both have had to struggle to formulate
an identity separate from the one assigned to them by American society.
Choose either 3 female authors or 3 African American writers who have
struggled with this issue. Examine their attempts to this conflict.
Now, here is my dilemma, I have the authors that I will be discussing:
Anne Bradstreet, Mary Rowlandson, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Harriet Jacobs,
but what search terms do I enter into the google search?
This is not a "easy" paper but I honestly want to dig deep into this paper
for the subject of their poems and narratives, etc... have me engrossed in
their works. I can cite from their text but I need the research aspect of
this paper. If anyone can assist me with some search terms I would greatly
appreciate it as this search has me almost in tears *sigh* Thanks a
bunches...
Netta
