Hi All,
This is not school-related but is blindness related and I wondered if anyone could help. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated!
As many of them are, my guide dog is a left-sider (e.g., he prefers to walk on the left-side of things as close to an edge or wall as possible). The problem with this is that he is a bit extreme to the point where if I would let him do so, if there is say an alcove that you could easily pass by while continuing to walk strait ahead, he would attempt to follow the wall of the alcove thus taking me unnecessarily out of the way. This is really frustrating as there is no need for this, he simply will not come toward the right. I am therefore wanting to train him to become more right-side biased. Thus, I was curious if anyone has suggestions or tips to help deal with this issue?
Many thanks,
Christine
