[oklahoma-l] Tulsa Lift Program

Hello to everyone!

 

I am writing to let everyone know about something that is happening to the
paratransit service in the Tulsa area.  Funds are being cut so that equals
to a raise in the fare and cuts to the service hours.

 

With the help of Joe Fallin, we in the Tulsa area are gathering to discuss
Lift matters on Monday, January 25th.  This meeting is open to all concerned
and will be held at the Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges at
5:30pm.  If you know someone who uses the Lift or you yourself are a Lift
user, please try to attend this gathering!

 

We are also asking that those who use the Lift (for whatever purpose) to
write a short letter explaining how you use it and how your life would
personally be affected if we were to lose this service.  It doesn't have to
be a masterpiece writing, just sit down and take a couple of minutes to
explain your story.  We are not looking for complaint letters about the
Lift, but we want you to tell us just how important the Lift is to you!

 

For those of you not in the Lift area, we are asking you to write a letter
telling how cuts to the service would affect your friends and family who do
use it.

 

I wouldn't ask you to do this if I hadn't done it myself!  I did and it only
took me a couple of minutes.  I am not able to use the Lift as I am out of
the service area.
