On another email list there has been some talk that some of the very large 
thumb drives are not working.  You might try another drive and see what 
happens.

Hmmmm! All I can say is to make sure that it's a blank thumb drive with no
additional software installed, with a small 2 or 4 gb size.  set up a folder
on the thumb drive called audio+podcasts and then place any MP3 file there
in that folder
Then plug the thumb drive directly into the USB slot on the side of the
machine.

I love the player, but I'd like to transfer podcasts if I can.  I tranfer it
to a thumb drive with no software, and it's on my card, but the player
doesn't see it.
