People with Disabilities Awareness Day

See the Person, Not the Disability is the theme for People With Disabilities Awareness Day, coming up on Tuesday, April 5.

As part of the activities of this day, we want everyone to have an opportunity to get their message to their legislators. Some legislators will be in their offices and some will not. This is because Awareness Day is also a regular work day for the legislature.

We have available some special cards for you to write your thoughts and concerns. These cards can be either mailed to the legislators offices in advance, or dropped off when you visit them on Awareness Day. If you would like a set of these cards to provide for your group in advance, please contact Shirley Burton in the Public Information Office, sburton at okdrs.gov<mailto:sburton at okdrs.gov>.

The front of the card is shown here. The back of the card has space for mailing information. If you do not know the address of your state senator and state representative, we can provide that to you if you include your complete home address with your request.
