FACT Families, Friends and Community Partners -
Significant decisions affecting families with children experiencing disability are being made in Salem on a daily basis! Many groups are vying for the attention of legislators but FAMILIES ARE UNDERREPRESENTED. Now, more than ever, it is essential that family voices be heard!
Budget items of significant interest to families:
a.. Reduction of already-limited resources for early intervention and early childhood special education
a.. Elimination of family support dollars critical to families with children with significant support needs, likely resulting in the family experiencing crisis
a.. Redirecting dollars out of the Fairview Trust jeopardizing ability to fund necessary adaptations that allow families to keep their children at home
a.. Reduction of crisis support funds, putting the health and safety of children with disabilities and their families at risk and resulting in additional out of home placements
a.. Commitment to increase of peer delivered family support
