FYI - Please see the note below from Commissioner Ruttledge:
I'm sorry I can't send this out to each of the partners in the NCSRC that have been
so supportive of my role as Commissioner and so steadfast in their advocacy for the
public vocational rehabilitation program. My best to all of you!
January 4 marked my two year anniversary in serving as the RSA Commissioner. It has
been an incredible privilege to work for this Administration and with the staff and
partners of RSA. I appreciate the dedication and commitment you have for our work
and the outcomes that individuals with disabilities achieve because of the programs
we administer.
We have much to look forward to, both personally and professionally, as we embark
on all that 2012 will offer. I regret that I will not be alongside you. I apologize
for this impersonal way of sharing that I am resigning, effective January 13, 2012.
The time has come for me to return home to the Pacific Northwest and embark on the
journey of retirement with my husband, Ed. Some of you know that he experienced a
serious acoustic trauma injury last January. This past year has been very difficult
for us with his career-ending job loss and the challenging journey as we learn to
mitigate the impact of significant hearing loss, tinnitus and hypercusis.
So with the New Year, I'll have a new beginning. The time has come for Ed and I to
be together and get on with our lives. Leaving to spend more time with my family
has always sounded like such a cliché but it aptly describes my situation.
Please accept my sincere thanks for the opportunity to work with you for the past
two years. The work has been immensely gratifying. I have greatly valued this chance
to advance the employment of youth and adults with disabilities. It will continue
to be my passion, wherever I am.
My best to you in 2012 and beyond -
Lynnae
