Hello all,

Just a reminder that the deadline is now past for pre-registration if you
need an interpreter. Yes, I should have sent this sooner but unfortunately
sometimes life gets in the way.

We will have the social on Monday night this year from 8-10 PM. There were
some who did not want to compete with the showcase so this is the reason for
the change.

As for other programming, we wanted to do one but could not get a speaker on
the topic we wanted to do so we are encouraging people to go to other
programs which are of interest and which will benefit them. There is a
program being done by the Transportation Committee on your rights regarding
paratransit. I would recommend this program. There is also a program being
done by the Schools for the Blind Task Force on residential schools and the
future. It is entitled "Residential Schools: The Next Generation." This
Task Force is Chaired by Ray Campbell who is a member of the ACB Board of
Directors and a proud residential school graduate. In the interest of
fulldisclosure, he's also my husband.

Blind Information Technology Specialists (BITS) is doing a program on
Braille displays on Sunday morning. I plan to go to that one as well as the
two programs mentioned above. Library Users of America (LUA) has some
programming on Monday afternoon and early evening which I plan to attend.
That's one where I do plan to ask some questions regarding Braille support
as well as services for those who use large print.

These are just a few offerings at this year's convention. I will definitely
entertain thoughts about future program ideas at a later date.

Thank you and hope to see many of you in Phoenix.
