the implant you are talking about
is called an ABI (AUDITORY BRAIN STEM IMPLANT)
IT IS NOT AS GOOD AS A STANDARD COCHLEAR IMPLANT
AND IS ALSO A DANGEROUS PROCEDURE AND VERY UNRELIABLE,
THE DANGER IT IS IMPLANTING ON TO THE BRAIN STEM WHICH
IS ESSENTIALLY BRAIN SURGERY AND THE BRAIN STEM ALSO CARRIES MANY
OTHER SIGNALS TO THE BRAIN IN ADDITION TO AUDITORY.
