Wiscraft Incorporated is a manufacturing company that operates as a nonprofit with the clear mission of employing people who are blind by selling blind-made products and services. We are currently in need of individual to fill a full time Production Employee - Machine Shop position.
Essential Functions of Job: This position is responsible for the operation of various CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and manual metal working machines in the Machine Shop department to achieve precision machining of metal and plastic components to customer specifications per ISO requirements while meeting labor efficiency productivity standards.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
· Ability to follow and retain instructions, ability to sustain quality work, flexibility to be cross-trained and the ability to work with machining equipment.
· Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and manual dexterity required.
· Jobs may require the ability to stand/sit for extended periods of time.
· Some lifting of up to 50 lbs. may be required.
· 3-5 years machine shop experience is preferred.
Compensation: Starting compensation is minimum wage but is negotiable based on experience.

JOB TITLE: Production Employee - Machine Shop
DEPARTMENT: Machine Shop
REPORTS TO: Machine Shop Supervisor
CLASSIFICATION: Nonexempt
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
a.. Demonstrate a recognition that safety is first in everything we do on the job. Handle material, tools and equipment to insure and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and fellow workers.
b.. Operate CNC turning centers and CNC mills to machine metal and plastic components including properly, efficiently, and accurately loading and unloading of material to machines.
c.. Operate various manual machines to provide processes such as sawing, drilling, countersinking, spot facing and thread tapping, and/or broaching metal work pieces
d.. Performing all work within ISO 9001-2008 quality standard including following step-by-step work instruction and specifications.
e.. Read and/or follow customer or internal component detail drawing specifications and complete parts that meet all specifications.
f.. Insuring that all quality criteria including critical part features are held within tolerances via in process inspection at the machine using hard inspection tools such as snap gages, go/no-go bore gages, etc. and measuring tools such as talking micrometers, talking calipers, talking height gages, etc.
g.. Meeting or exceed acceptable productivity standards as established by management estimates to meet market competitive prices.
h.. Produce completed products that meet or exceed the customer's delivery needs.
i.. Always display a spirit that, "The customer is King."
j.. Always display a spirit of cooperation with fellow employees
k.. Do fixture changes, change tooling, add coolant and way oil to machines as directed by Machine Shop Supervisor or Lead Person
l.. Maintain LEAN manufacturing 5-S housekeeping standards
m.. Perform any other duties as assigned.
