Hi Amy:
I have lots of ideas about accepting visual loss since I feel that in some
ways my parents used the wrong approach in helping me to accept my visual
loss.
You said that the parents were interested in books and articles. I remember
that there was an autobiography by Jacob Twersky a blind college professor.
Perhaps this would be helpful. Twersky also wrote a novel called Face Of
The Deep which I think was regarded as a dirty book when I was in High
school.
I wonder if the journal of Visual impairment might have material and I would
think your school library might have something. I also wonder if Nfb. has
any material.
When I was a child I thought that I had partial vission because at that time
I had a little light perception. An excellent child psychologist set me
straight.
On a personal note I wonder if you would do me a favor. Could you ask your
mother if she went to school with Leximi Ammerman and if she did could you
see if she knows what Leximi is doing today?
Incidentally I still think you are an absolutely phenomenal auctioner.
