DixieLand Guide Dog Users is the South Carolina Affiliate of Guide Dog Users, INc., the largest guide dog-related organization In the United States. We serve as advocates for and provide peer support and information to guide dog users throughout our state. We also provide accurate information to the general public about guide dogs. Our members are graduates from a variety of guide dog schools, including Seeing Eye; Leader Dog; Ivy Creek; Guiding Eyes for the Blind; Pilot Dogs and South Eastern Guide Dog School. Some of our members are also puppy raisers; guide dog trainers and owners of retired guide dogs. We meet twice a year and publish issues of our newsletter between meetings.
