My name is Carol Francisco, I am honored to accept the challenges of being the president of the Tennessee Council of the Blind. I am grateful for the support and assistance of many of our members. With everyone’s participation, we will grow in membership and influence. There is much work to do in this state. We need to educate our legislators about the needs of the blind and visually impaired from small children, and young adults to the elderly. We will ecourage the teaching of Braille and and the use of accessible computer technology. We have chapters in Nashville,m Crossville, Knoxville and Memphis and hope to develop chapters in other cities. I look forward to working with our board members and chapter presidents.
Just a little information about me. I am a retired medical transcriptionist with approximately 38 years experience. I also worked for 2 years as a Braille proofreader. I am married to Orlando Francisco, who was born in the Dominican Republic and is employed as a Spanish interpreter. I became a member of ACB in 1968, so I have seen a lot of changes and met many amazing leaders and mentors.
If you live in Tennessee, I hope you will consider joining us. If you would like more information you can send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
