The American Council of the Blind (ACB) is pleased to be working with Meta to distribute Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses to eligible U.S. military veterans who are legally blind. Through the support of participating ACB affiliates and chapters, distribution events are being held in communities across the United States, bringing this technology directly to blinded veterans where they live.
Eligible veterans may receive one pair of Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses at no cost while supplies are available. Glasses must be received in person at a participating distribution event and cannot be shipped to individual recipients.
Who Is Eligible?
To receive Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses through this program, you must:
- Be a U.S. military veteran who is legally blind;
- Provide proof of military service or veteran status, such as a DD214, VA ID, or other acceptable documentation;
- Acknowledge that you are legally blind;
- Have a compatible smartphone capable of running the Meta AI app; and
- Attend a participating distribution event in person.
ACB membership is not required, and there is no cost to eligible veterans receiving the glasses.

Register for a Distribution Event
When completing the centralized registration form, you will select the event location you plan to attend. After submitting your registration, you will receive a confirmation with the date, time, location, and other important information for your selected event.
Advance Registration & Walk-Ins
Advance registration is strongly encouraged.
Veterans who register in advance will receive priority during the first hour of their selected event. Registration does not guarantee receipt of glasses.
After the first hour, available glasses will be distributed to eligible veterans who are present, including walk-ins, as supplies permit.
Walk-ins must meet the same eligibility requirements as veterans who register in advance.
If you plan to attend, registering in advance helps the local host prepare for the number of veterans expected and helps you receive important information about your event.
What to Bring
Please bring:
- Proof of U.S. military service or veteran status;
- The smartphone you plan to use with your Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses; and
- The login information you may need to access your phone and download apps, including your Apple Account or Google Account credentials when applicable.
We strongly encourage you to download the Meta AI app before arriving and come with your smartphone sufficiently charged.
Volunteers will be available to provide basic assistance with initial setup.
If you registered in advance, please plan to arrive during the first hour of your selected event whenever possible to take advantage of priority distribution.

Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses combine wearable technology with Meta AI and can provide useful access to visual information and hands-free assistance. For someone who is blind or has low vision, they may be used to learn about surroundings, read text, identify products and other visual information, and connect with services and people for additional assistance.
This distribution is part of Meta's broader commitment to provide Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses to blinded veterans, and ACB is honored to help bring this technology directly into communities across the country.
