Audio Description

  1. Audio described gaming plans for convention
  2. Initiate international collaboration committee around audio description

Advocacy

  1. Develop and implement initial phase of the enhanced accessibility, consulting and compliance services initiative
  2. Explore expanded use of Speak 4

Scholarships and awards

  1. Reimagine the Scholarship Committee to ensure active engagement at the annual convention and year-round.
  2. Integrate the Scholarship Program with Membership Development by establishing structured mentoring and relationship-building opportunities for recipients.
  3. Explore industry/corporate relationships to identify internships and other opportunities for scholarship winners.

Information, Referral & Peer Support

  1. Define the Information, Referral and Peer Support activities.
  2. Determine the process for implementing information, referral and peer support.
  3. Identify types of measurable outcomes that are applicable and how measurement will be conducted
  4. Determine committee role in managing and delivering information and referral and peer support services

Membership

  1. Affiliate Development – Develop and implement affiliate scorecard to assist affiliates to evaluate their organizational health, sustainability, and engagement.
  2. Peer training program for affiliate leadership skills– enhanced, specific training for all leadership positions
  3. Implement youth track at convention serving up to 20 youth and their parents

Public Awareness

  1. Implement the ACB Media Scheduling System and formally retire legacy scheduling tools to streamline programming operations (staff with media committee)
  2. External Marketing – Initiate sustainability and growth plan; who will our market be in 5 years and a plan on how we reach them; (staff and Board)
    1. Build a clear picture of ACB’s current state, audiences, culture, and challenges to inform data-driven decisions.
    2. Translate findings into a strategic and operational roadmap that positions ACB for the next 25 years.
  3. Communication – streamlining ACB messaging across social media, email, and other channels to ensure consistent, accessible, and mission-aligned communications. (staff and BOP)

Events

  1. Assess the Structure and Relevance of Major Events to ensure they meet member and market needs while maintaining accessibility and engagement.
    1. DC Leadership Conference (Staff, Advocacy steering and Berl Colley Leadership Committees)
      1. Analysis and strategy of the conference for the next 5 years - Look at effectiveness of a central conference with hill visits verses a regional approach
    2. Gala – Evaluate the strategy of the event beyond a fundraiser and industry outreach (staff, ADP Steering Committee)
    3. Convention - Propose Options to Shorten the Convention Schedule while maintaining program quality and accessibility. (staff, voting task force, convention steering and Convention program committees)
    4. Redesign the Convention Program into a more streamlined, accessible, and user-friendly format. (staff, BOP, and convention steering committee)

 

Management & general; Resource Development

Governance

  1. Develop the “ABCs of ACB” Orientation Framework — a consistent onboarding and operations guide for all committees, including:
    1. Purpose and connection to ACB’s strategic goals
    2. Recruitment and appointment processes
    3. Succession planning for leadership continuity
  2. Update the ACB and Affiliate Expectations Policy with stakeholder input to clarify roles, responsibilities, and mutual accountability.
  3. Propose Revisions to Bylaw 6 to reflect ACB’s evolving committee structure and governance model. (constitution committee)

Resource Development

  1. Transition from event-based corporate outreach to year-round corporate outreach
  2. Individual giving - Connect individuals to the mission & what it means to them.
  3. Evaluate effectiveness of longer-term internal fundraising programs/events and propose new initiatives or a refresh of current initiatives

Administration

  1. IT Infrastructure Updates
    1. Develop a roadmap to determine feasibility, process and resource requirements to integrate all online resources into acb.org and ACB Link.
    2. Determine feasibility and resources to transition ACB.org to a full featured content management system
    3. Continue development of the ADP website building integration with ACB link, developing an ai tool to query the information, and deploying an Alexa skill
  2. Document and streamline ACBs processes
  3. Document process and roles in organizational decision making (members, committees, board, and staff)
