1. I am Cachet Wells, a Jacksonville, Florida native, seeking a second term on the ACB Board of Publications. It has been such a rewarding privilege to serve alongside the membership this past year. I appreciate every opportunity experienced that has given me the ability to get to know this organization, its leadership and its membership better. Listening and connecting to the voices of so many members have allowed me to set higher expectations of service and impact for myself. Serving this organization as a Board Director, has afforded me opportunities to grow as it has grown. Continuing to carry out the purpose and goals of the BOP while advocating for those who are blind and vision impaired in this community is what allows my personal purpose to align with that of ACB. Partnering with the work of this organization to ensure fairness, equality and respect is offered to every member and in every instance is a goal we continue to share. Resolving to bring light and value to the confidence, independence, and resilience of those affected by Blindness. It is the collective work of us building, making a difference and taking strides of progress together to advance the efforts of our causes that are vitally important. As a person with low vision, who have transitioned through several stages of Blindness because of Macular Degeneration, the continued work to meet the needs of our community are ever changing. Understanding the importance of maintaining, as a supportive resource, our voice of awareness, independence and advocacy as we navigate in society is our primary focus. Learning from every encounter and experience helps us to emphasize, embody, embrace the views, voices and vitality that brings accountability, accessibility and awareness to our efforts that has a positive impact in our community.

2. The responsibility and role that comes with anyone serving in any area, community, or organization yields itself to our ability to give of ourselves for the betterment of it and the progressive pursuit to operate collectively in harmony and unity. This holds true even for my intentional desire to make sure that I am making every effort to make a difference. Being passionate, committed and empathetic to the concerns and the needs of the ACB membership and others who are Blind and Visually Impaired as we seek to be involved, invested and inclusive to all matters that affects us either directly or indirectly is the priority of ACB Board of Publications and all forms of publications to which I agree. In order to expand our reach and be resilient in those pursuits, time is my greatest and strongest contribution that I willingly offer in order to make positive advancements to engage and educate on our causes. Time to dedicate to supporting the needs, concerns and voices of the membership. Time that allows my passion to be a driving force to help me identify areas where we can evolve and grow together. Time made available to be a part of the development of relevant solutions that will be the foundation to greater perspective that allows for new doors to be opened for those affected by blindness. As we continue to foster an environment where we can utilize our skills, abilities and talents to partner with this organization to build upon for the future.

3. As an organization, there are many aspects, qualities and attributes that keep ACB on the forward track to relevance and influence for blindness. The continual pursuit to keep membership engaged and empowered are necessary for growth and impact. ACB's efforts to maintain its core values, goals, and initiatives as it navigates being a viable resource In our communities, are of utmost priority. ACB has continued to take strides to be on the cutting edge of making progression in its community, and the causes that are vital to those who are Blind or Visually Impaired. My personal desire is to continue assisting in the work of ACB and its Board of Publications through involvement and partnership with the ACB membership to successfully keep us moving toward continue growth and common purposes of fluidity in accessibility, diversity and viability. With a purposeful investment to make sure that there are not just conversations of universal inclusion but making sure that intentional effort is seen of actions brought forth. Ensuring universal inclusion that crosses age, gender, race, and ethnicity be made visible and every made visible in every area and on every level of this organization is a continued challenge worth pursuing. Making deliberate choices to partner with ACB to educate through collaboration, encourage through cooperation and to be more effective through concise actions That moves forward collectively as an evolving organization. I look forward to serving the ACB membership through the Board of Publications as we seek with fairness and respect that Universal Inclusion extends its reach so that we each become empowered together as a community and family.
