Appetizer Auction Rules and Information:

Contact Leslie Spoone at 407-678-0075 or 407-678-4163 or email [email protected] with your bid. Please provide your name, phone number, email, item number and bid amount. Bids must be in $5.00 increments.

  • Leslie will send out Appetizer Auction information communicating the high bid on each item at 5:00pm ET, 8:00pm ET and 9:00am ET each day.
  • Billing for both the appetizer and Convention auction will take place starting on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, for all the winning purchases. Billing for auction items will be paused during the convention and resume on July 16, 2024. The auction items need to be paid for by July 30, 2024.

The American Council of the Blind conducts fundraising auctions with the purpose of providing financial support for our programs and services. We thank those individuals, organizations, and businesses who donate items for our auctions.

Please note that if you bid on an item and live out of the United States, you will be responsible for paying for the shipping of the item.

To participate as a bidder, we ask that you be courteous to one another, to those who are conducting the auction and to those who will be contacting the winning bidders to arrange for payment.

It is expected that any winning bidder will, after being contacted by anyone connected to the auction, provide proper billing information prior to the auction item being sent to them. If we do not successfully collect the bid amount, we reserve the right to repurpose the item to the benefit of ACB.

We reserve the right to block any individual not following the guidelines during the auction or from participating in any future auction.

We love our blind-owned businesses! Recognize this podcast!? Bid on their new tote bag. The black 15-inch by 20-inch canvas, full-zip tote bag has a fabulous metallic silver and 3-D tactile ink white print. The print actually starts on the right-hand side with a gigantic mouth, shouting into a microphone. The words coming out in big metallic streams are “unmute “and “be heard.” Each of the streams runs across the entire tote bag and contains one of the words. The first, in a clean font, the second in a font called rockstar. So, you know this is a cool bag. The microphone from the right-hand side has a cord which starts on the right-hand side, but curves all along the bottom of the print to the far left-hand side. It is a three-dimensional white cord. You will love this lamp shaped like a small oil lantern. The lantern part is carved out of petrified sea life fossil called Orthoceras which is black and light gray. Parts of the carving resemble marble but with the exception of the marbling showing images of old sea creatures. The light area is carved from an opaque white gemstone called selenite. The lamp has a C7 LED bulb inside and an in-cord dimmer switch. What a wonderful conversational piece to have for yourself or to give to someone special!
